and helps you get where you want to be.
Board Certified Behavior Analyst-led caregiver support,
delivered one-on-one, and built around your goals.
About
The Capability Collective was founded by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with years of direct experience working with children and families, as well as experience as a service facilitator for a county waiver agency. That experience brings a broad view of the full system of supports surrounding a child and their family into every session. As a working parent of two young children myself, I understand how busy life can get, and how impossible daily change can feel when you're already stretched thin. My goal with every family is to offer small, realistic changes to your daily routines, steps that fit into the life you're actually living, and that add up to a real improvement in your family's quality of life.We currently offer Caregiver Capability Sessions, in-person one-on-one support for parents and unpaid caregivers.
Caregiver Capability Sessions
Capability Sessions are one-on-one time with a BCBA, focused on you: your questions, your goals, your family. We start by identifying what you most want to change, then build a plan around it, with practical tools you can put to use right away.Content falls within the following topic categories:
| Understanding & responding to behavior: | tantrums, meltdowns, aggression, and knowing what to do in the moment |
| Routines & transitions: | bedtime, mealtime, and getting through daily changes more smoothly |
| Communication & cooperation: | following directions, handling new situations, and reducing power struggles |
| Emotional regulation: | helping your child, and yourself, stay calmer through hard moments |
| Caregiver self-care & sustainability: | managing your own stress so you can keep showing up for your family |
Sessions are matched to the goal you bring in, you are not required to complete every module, and multiple modules can run sequentially based on need.
How Sessions Work
One hour together each week, in person.
A 12-session series: one introductory session to define your goal, ten content sessions building toward it, and one closing session to wrap up and look ahead.
You'll leave every session with something concrete to try.
